Headlights - adjusting height

I have the regular (not laser) headlights and I think they need to be adjusted. When I am driving I can clearly see the faces of drivers in the opposing lane of traffic and one hyundai driver sitting at a traffic light in front of me gave me the finger.

Is this a dealer only adjustment? I searched the on line manual but it only discusses replacing bulbs, which is dealer only also. No mention of how to adjust the height. I'll attach a picture later today.

Assume that you have LED headlights which should be self levelling.

Yes, I have the LED headlights, but they still seem to be aimed high. Maybe my self-leveling feature is disabled?

Is there a way to adjust the height for self-leveling headlights?

Yes. Park on a incline or decline and turn your lights on. You should see them move up and down to adjust.

Take the car back to the dealer to check, the led's on my merc glc move up and down when I start the car to get the right level, I have the intelligent lights. Cars I have had with xenons also move up and down when you turn them on, only really noticeable when dark.

Just drove back 2.5 hours in the dark from skiing, people definitely don't like my headlights much, got flashed about 10 times people thinking my high beams were on, maybe just the extra brightness of the LED's or maybe they are a bit high also?

My service center (Beverly Hills BMW) diagnosed it quickly. The cable connecting the headlights to the auto leveling sensor was disconnected. Probably happened during shipping. They reconnected the cable and now the headlights are lowering properly. When that cable is disconnected the lights aim high. I also got a Chassis warning message on the way to the dealership. I was told that the message was related to the disconnected cable.

"Check found the front headlamp stuck up too high. Connect battery charge perform vehicle test found FC: 033C5C VDP Ride Height sensor rear left value not reading. R/I the left rear wheel wheel check check connector found good, check found linkage arm ride height sensor popped loose cause securing sensor and perform ride height adjustment."
