iDrive and Lights stay on?!?

So this has happened several times - I come hom, turn the car off, and will go back to the garage some time later, 10 mins to 1+ hours, and the running lights, tail lights and iDrive are all still on! WTF? This has happened about a half dozen times in two weeks. What am I missing? This really irritates me.

Do you open the driver's door before or after you turn off the car?

Do you have the key on you when you go out to check?

In comfort access- did you turn on ‘lock vehicle as you walk away with key’. I have it turned on and a couple of times it didn’t lock, lights were on as well as Idrive. I believe it has to be with the poor key recognition system of the car. Some people and myself have had situations were the key fob is not recognized especially if you have your cellphone in the vicinity. If you lock your vehicle manually, Then I have no idea, what’s gong on.

After. I have found this issue occurs only when I have a passenger.

No. Key is hanging by the door, which is about 20 feet from the car. This just happened again today and I specifically turned iDrive off before I got out. Checked it 2 HOURS later and everything still on - running lights, tail lights and iDrice. I’m really pissed by this.

I love the car, but it is a buggy mess, as has been discussed in other posts. The software is not complete nor is it commercial ready. Shocked (but not really) BMW would allow this.

On F15 you have to push the start button a second time to turn off everything else unless you lock the car.

Ya that’s how it was with my last 4 BMWs. Doesn’t appear to be the case with G05

Seems to me if any door is opened before I turn the engine off, the idrive and power stay on unless I hit the engine button a 2nd time. If I shut off the engine before anyone opens a door, everything turns off once a door is opened. Worked the same way in my sisters old 2015 X3.
