Test drive new build before inking deal?

Greetings G05 owners and pursuers:

So my vehicle is at the dealership and I am still finalizing some particulars with my CA, including a trade-in amount, etc., and have not signed the deal yet.

Is it completely out of line to demand a test drive of the vehicle, especially in light of the fact that it was in "Quality Check" for about 2 weeks?

Thank you!

Not at all unreasonable to drive it before you sign the final deal. I've never NOT driven the particular vehicle I'm buying before I've put the ink on the final deal regardless if I bought off the lot or if it was built for me.

Absolutely test drive. Use the opportunity to troubleshoot any of the issues or concerns raised by current owners.

Absolutely do it!! I regret not doing it thoroughly on my 2012 BMW 5 series which had vibrations on highway from day 1 and sold it 1 year later after countless of balancing, new tires, rims, etc. Since then I drive all my new cars for half hour in city and highway and listen, feel and see how things are before making the final deal.

You might need to find a new dealer if you are nervous to ask to test drive a vehicle you put good money on.

I plan on driving and going over the checklists provided in this forum. I won’t take delivery if there are issues. I expect everything will be working.

I insisted on a test drive.

Test driving a loaner vehicle before finalizing a deal sounds absolutely fine. If I understand your request, you are planning to test drive your new vehicle before putting the pen to paper? That would be a tough sell. If the new vehicle odometer climbs over 10, that is no longer new.

Just test drove it and he had no issues with the demand. It was good thing as it pointed out things that were not done: navigation not installed, weather not working as a consequence. taught him some things about vehicle. etc. thanks Team

What?! Vehicles are legally considered new until registered, regardless of the number of miles.

Technically yes but try selling a new vehicle to someone with tens of miles.
