What are people's thoughts on Simonizing?

I found one string that seems to say no to this at point of purchase, but just want to make sure? thanks

With so many good modern polymer sealants and coatings like SiC and SiO2-based products out there, anyone who uses the word Simonize to you should be treated as suspect. The short answer is the thread you found is correct.

Simonize Glasscoat is a ceramic coating. Everyone is touting other ceramic coatings, but sticking their nose up at the Simonize product. Is there an actual reason, or is it just ignorance based on the old days?

I'm not sure whether they've updated the formulation but Glasscoat is a very old product. My parents got this on a car they had and it was far from lifetime protection, it barely lasted two years. Call it ignorance or whatever but I trust the chemistry and formulations of the more modern products far more than anything Simonize has to offer.

Feynlabs makes really good coatings that are professionally applied both self healing ceramic and regular ceramic. I trust companies that I've seen their stuff in person. I think Feynlabs has the best coatings but they get fairly expensive for the self healing stuff due to it's complexity
