auto stop safety feature

Has anyone here experienced the auto braking feature. so far been unable to confirm it is working on my car using different objects .On the q7 if your coming up on a car to fast a triangle appears and if the driver takes no action the car brakes for self preservation.
BMW videos show this in action but it appears to be disabled on my car. How is this feature working for all of you?

It doesn't brake for you unless you got the added driver assistance package. The standard system will help you brake, meaning it will make sure you apply enough pressure but won't actually brake for you unless you are already braking (it will brake harder for you that's all). It does also warn you with a red car sign if you are getting to close and speed is too fast.

Well then it should! Test it out, report back. Not sure if this only works when the cruise control is activated. Have read it helps in traffic jams and will start and stop on it's own. I generally dislike these systems and had in on my 2010 E63 AMG (one of the 1st cars to offer this). I never used it but it brake for me on its own once and may have helped avoid an accident. Not sure if I would have brakes hard enough to stop or not but the system did kick in.

We need to combine these two threads but as a recap:
I called BMW Tech via 800 number. These vehicle are suppose to apply emergency braking intervention at parking lot speeds of it detects a obstacle. We have discovered a MAJOR omission that needs to be addressed. He needs owners of this to contact the dealer so dealer tech can open case.

Male sure you test yours. my guess is yours doesn’t brake either.
Here is what you need to have checked in the menu:

In the manual it states “activate PDC with braking interv.”

Mine does not show “with braking interv”. I have Parking Assistant Plus.

This looks like a possible late build/firmware add on.

Can someone else check this under your setting?
It’s under this:

This may be a one more feature that needs to be programmed in by dealer or firmware.

FYI: this forum is priceless figuring this stuff out for everyone. Knowing if your vehicle will stop automatically might be a important feature for everyone to know if they have or if it’s working.
