Question about rebates/discount.
Hi all
My wife is pretty close to picking 2019 X5 and we're just Waiting to see the 2020 gle. I have some questions regarding rebates. I spoke to a broker who said 9-11 percent off (before incentives) is expected based on the deals he has done recently on the X5. Broker fee is 400. I'm usually a good negotiator and polite. Is this doable by myself? I did some reading here today and it appears some People are getting loyalty of 1500 without having recently had A BMWFS lease/finance within the past 12 months. I do have a BMW currently but it is an e36 m3 so I don't qualify for loyalty based on their definition. I have a volvo XC90 lease ending in the next month. Is it up to the dealer to consider it a conquest and honor The loyalty rebate? I also assume the bmwfs 2000 credit does NOT work for a lease? My ideal target is 11 percent and then 1k bmwcca and 1500 loyalty. Which would be roughly 14.5 percent off msrp post rebate on a 72k build. Thanks!! |

It seems most folks here are getting around 6% before incentives. Maybe your broker gets that much more off or is stretching it a bit.
My dealer would not give the loyalty as a conquest for owning another brand but some people here said they got it. I would think if it is a BMW incentive they wouldn't care but my guess is the dealer is giving the incentive (or misrepresenting what the customer currently has) and not BMW. If BMW had a conquest incentive you would think they would advertise it like other brands do. There are currently no BMW incentives for leasing a 2019, the $2k credit is for financing. |

considering the cars are marked up 6-6.5% invoice invoice and avp is 5% he's wrong. No dealer will sell the car for below invoice at their cost which as others have posted elsewhere on the forums 5% under invoice. With incentives is another story and very possible so maybe he didn't explain things correctly.
I've done a lot of research and know that you won't see one for 11% without incentives unless it's a very special case because they wouldn't make money for real (not the run around bs they give you at the dealer). Be realistic and expect to pay for the car at 6-6.5% off MSRP + incentives. I got mine down to 10.5% off with incentives + BMWCCA discount of $1k on a $99k custom order.

Thank you Android robot. I agree its a high discount . He just did a deal at 11percent off on a 76k MSRP but that one included loyalty so probably closer to 9.x percent off.
Here is his original reply. I think 9-11% off before incentives/rebates is realistic from my network of dealers on the X5. I haven’t asked about the X7, but I can find out what they are willing to do on those. All my deals are factored with the base MF or it’s tough to compare dealer discount. Also, if you are in NY, it may be better to use my NY dealer because some of the Doc fees NJ dealers charge eat into the discount whereas NY is set at lower than $100. I believe you can’t do MSDs either because of NY. My fee structure is now $100 retainer, and $300 due at signing. ----- I will inquire again . Thanks! |

I got below invoice, 7% discount off MSRP plus rebates etc. for a total of 11.9% off plus top trade value.
You don't need some wonderful broker doing what you're capable of doing yourself. It's all about perseverance and finding the right dealer. I have posted an image of our build order deal a few times here. |

I agree with the high % off. I found it only really equates to that if financing. If leasing I'm not seeing much over 8%. If I'm wrong I would like to hear about it.
I'm curious to hear what the broker came up with as well. |

I have a 2016 gle400. Every option on earth. Twin turbo v6, air suspension, soft close doors...seats are unbearably uncomfortable. Horrible reliability (rim cracked within 3 months of ownership, which has never happened to any of my cars in 30 years). Worst car I’ve ever had. Only had it six months. I got it as a CPO with only 8K miles. Thought I hit the jackpot. Retail was $84K. I am trading it in this week for another x5. The only Mercedes SUV worth owning is the GLS in my opinion (currently my wife’s car). Now I see why the x5 is always ranked toward the top of most reviews and the GLE always toward the bottom.
