Where's the badging placed on your car?

My wife pointed out that the badging on our car seems to be located in a weird spot. There aren't a lot of X3s in my area for some reason to compare so I wanted to ask here.

Our X3 sign is located underneath the driver side taillight, with the x30i sign under the passenger side taillight. I've got no badging on the side whatsoever.

Pictures I've Googled show the X3 sign alternating between driver and passenger side, but always above the taillight.

I wonder if mine is weird and why it's like that.

That’s standard for the 2018/ 2019. BMW initially placed them above the lights, then decided to move them. All X models now have them under the lights.

In case you're wondering, the badge shift occurred somewhere around the end of March/beginning of April 2018. Before the shift, they were high up, and in the minivan location afterwards.

Personally, I dont like the lower positioning. Mine it at the higher position. Also seems contrary to other X series before and is well below the eyeline. Given the choice of lower or unbadged, I'd now opt for the latter. Just saying...

The new 2019 X1 and X5 also have the badges below the taillights near the bottom edge of the tailgate. So maybe it's the new trend?

Early X7 photos still show the X7 badge above the taillights but we'll know for sure when they officially go on sales.

Yup mine is under the rear lights....I'm debadging them and maybe getting the Black Chrome "X3" badge from IND and placing it on the top right, passenger side of the trunk, above the rear tail light
