Brand new X3 OEM wheels & tyres 698m Ferric Grey 19" UK only

Hello all

I'm taking delivery of a brand new X3 20d M Sport next week.

I had it for a steal but I couldn't add any options (it was alredy in build).

I'm swapping the original wheels for 20".

As such I have 19" 698m BMW wheels with brand new run flats.

£1700 any takers?

Collect from Swansea(ish) or I could get a price for shipping. Probably about £100. UK only.

Dave

I'm looking to buy a set of 698s as winter wheels, would you be interested in selling the alloys separately from the tyres by any chance?

I just picked up a 20d MSport last week, which was also built with the MSport performance pack with the 20" Bicolour Orbit Grey 699 wheels, which I wouldn't have specified, preferring ride quality over ultimate handling. They look great and the ride is still pretty good.

Would consider a swap?

Hi sorry for the late reply I've been on a snowboarding trip.

If I can't sell them with tyres then I would consider splitting - but this is a bit of a pain so I will try for a bit longer first.

Yes definitely the 699's are what I'm looking to upgrade to.

How much would you want £?

Where are you, I'm willing to drive within reason.

BTW my delivery date has been moved back so I don't get the car for a week (11th Feb)

I am in Cheltenham so not too far away - I will need to check there are no issues as it's a lease. Also as it has the MSport brakes whether there is enough clearance for the callipers. I'll check with the dealer later today. I'll get back to you once I know if its a goer.

By the way, I also have a 335d Xdrive. That's got M performance brakes (370mm) with 19" wheels so I think that will be fine.

Cheers

Just checked. X3 20xd with M Sport brakes = 348mm so 19" should be fine

Hi Dave, spoke to the dealer and was strongly advised not to swap as it will have a significant cost impact on handing it back due to the deviation in the spec and that I'd be better off buying a 2nd set. While he would sat that if he wanted to sell another set of wheels, I think he's probably right that unless I'm definitely keeping the car long term I'd be stung at trade in time. He also mentioned having to get the true pressure sensors re-codes on the swapped out wheels.
As a result I'm going to stick with what I have, sorry.
These are things you may want to consider too as you may need the dealer to re-code tyre pressure sensors etc.

OK thanks for the update.

To be fair I wouldn't be happy with a reduction in residual value - could they tell what it would be? I could compensate for this.

Sensor coding I could also cover cost for both parties (although searching this forum it shouldn't" need coding though for the same car / same year,).

I appreciate this might just seem too much hassle, if so just let me know.

Cheers

They were saying it was disproportionate to the value of the wheels to the extent that we're probably both better off buying a set of the chosen size and keeping the originals to put back on when or if you hand the car back.

If you've bought the car and are selling it
privately I doubt it would have as much impact but that probably won't be the case for me.
