Why N54 injectors much more pricy than N55?

Title says it all. A set of N55 injectors can be had for like 500$ while a set of N54 is 1300$ without any deals and even with deals it's still considerably more expensive.

N54 injectors used to be $110 each back when I bought 3 in 2015. Then they doubled after that for no apparent reason. Probably a combination of supply and demand and maybe a supplier stopped production on them or something.

Wow 110$ that must have been nice. Make a big dent in your wallet at current price if all go wrong...

But I was wondering if maybe they are piezoelectric instead of electronic? Or I'm an idiot and when I see thread where it says piezo they meant it's a brand?

Piezoelectric is a type of injector, not a brand. They are technically better than traditional solenoid type injectors used in the N55, but we've been plagued with reliability issues.

Still are $110 a piece with lifetime warranty. Just need to shop. I purchased some last week

probably just supply and demand...i think the last n54 was built in 2013 where as the n55 was being built until 2018. So you have a 5yr gap in supply chain.

If they stopped production what's gonna happen when we need more. They'll start again and since they won't be a need as much they're gonna be 500$ each lmao ?

Try advance auto and purchase using discount coupons. Had to make several orders as the max discount is only $50 each.

Intermotor injectors have been shown to be genuine BMW with the bmw symbol ground off.

mine were intermotor. they have the bmw logo. almost 4 years and no issues.
