F30 328i louder in the rain

So I’ve driven this car in the rain a fair bit and no issues but we are experiencing a lot of heavy rain and standing water. Driving today I ran through some water that splashed up pretty heavily and a few miles later I noticed a louder than usual exhaust drone when lugging the engine to accelerate. After driving for a few it seemed to go away. Any ideas?

I notice the same thing. It almost sounds like if you were driving thru a tunnel. I mentioned something to the dealer when I first got the car. They said it's normal?

Drone is a fairly common term used to describe a sort of low frequency hum from the exhaust, usually experienced at low rpms. Lugging the engine simply put is when you give the engine throttle in high gear to the point where it is doing everything it can before downshifting to a lower gear. Think high throttle position and low rpms.

I used to experience this in my 15 320i XDrive in slippery conditions. I hypothesized that it has something to do with the traction control or AWD system since I only experienced it when it was heavily raining or snowing out. Not sure though.

lol, literally everything is normal to the dealership unless your car is un-drivable.
