Just had to replace my iPhone XS Max

NFC chip stopped working, I have a feeling my x5s charging station killed it.

I have  care + so they replaced it on the spot.

Anyone else experiencing Apple Pay issues ?

Qi is independent of NFC. That's a little crazy to conclude... to each their own. I've used wireless charging for 7+ years now and beverage had an issue with the built in wireless charger on my last 2 BMWs

NFC was always triggered when I was trying to charge it. I don't have any solid evidence that that's what caused it. But I just have this weird feeling that it might be.

that's an apple software issue with their payment app as documented thoroughly here. If you're concerned turn off NFC. Mine is on 24/7 on various phones (S8+/S9+ and on Wednesday my S10+) no issues at all

I am well aware of everything you are saying. Just throwing it out there that issue I had might have been caused by the charging station. Obviously can be completely irrelevant.

They work independently of one another, I don't know how Apple configured theirs but it would be very odd if that happened. Perhaps if someone else has theirs fail the same way it'll be interesting. I recommend keeping NFC off if you're worried

There's a very long OP about this issue. Apple has a software 'bug' or 'feature' whatever they want to call it where the phones has Apple Pay come up when a certain type of NFC device is detected. You can disable this by turning off your NFC or Apple Pay. Apple is aware of the issue as is BMW (who isn't really to blame here), no eta has been given on software fix.
