5.0 production vs 4.0 production

I jumped on this 4.0 M packaged X7 yesterday and was told it's approx 2 weeks out. From what I've been reading delay wise, it does seem that the 5.0 / 8cyl are moving slower through production, than the 4.0 / 6cyl. Thoughts?

In less than one week, she just jumped 3 check marks this evening to entering assembly line.
How long you guys think from now??

I found out today that my X7 50i M Sport that finished production February 8th shipped from the factory on February 28th.

That other US X7 50i that i have been tracking and also finished production February 8th is still in quality today.

I think from what i've been seeing, the 5.0s are slower...

When mine was getting built - it would stick in reading for assembly and quality check for days - and then just skip about 3 steps. I waited 1-2 weeks in quality check - next think I know - was awaiting carrier and then at dealer. Will be there soon!

Is it the norm to see a jump from production begins to quality check in less than a week?!
Or ones this seem fast track?

I jumped on it while was in production this past Tuesday, which had the status of "production begins". No idea when it was originally ordered, just hoping it's moving fast and my dealer was right, in saying I should see it next week. Shall see!!

Yeah takes remarkably short period of time to build.

I’m guessing yours is a week 10 build just like mine. I’m also in Quality Check, but even though there’s been progress since last week (Got updates from BMW Genius), the website barely updated until it was through production on Wednesday. The way this process has gone, I think it’s be a miracle if either of us see our X7 next week. It’s been disappointing every step of the way!

I suspect they expedite 50i orders since they are higher margin vehicles and they want to deplete engine inventory ahead of the updated engine.

When I ordered my 16' 50i X5 I was told by the dealer that i6's were built every week and V8's were built one week a month at the factory. Not sure if the sales ratio of 25/75 is real or not. It seems logical.
