Tire pressure

Hello, today i have changed my winter setup and put summer.

However i have a problem.

I have switch to 20 inch summer wheeels in menu, but i have a problem with tire pressure.

I have put 2.5,but comp said that recomended is 2.8 and after that 3.0

In psi that is almost 40,which i find too much.

How to change that recommended value?

Because when u put my settings,a get alert message to drive moderately.

What should i do?

Thanks Deda

I really am not sure but I thought it works this way:

- set the tire pressure you want
- reset tpms

After this the system takes over the pressure your tires have and automatically sets a threshold for the lowest possible value.

It's the first time I see this "recommended tire pressure" - maybe BMW changed something in the last few years. Let's wait for another opinion just to be sure.

2.9 bar is 42 psi, wow.
Something is wrong and I would goto the dealer.
My car suggests 35 PSI, (2.4 bar) for reference.

My old 335 said for max passenger load, on the door was 42 psi on a 30 profile tire running 19 inch. for normal load was 38 psi.

This equals 2.9 bar which seems a bit too much. I would run 2.5 all around which equals 36 psi. How does the wear off your tires look like? Or was your car always loaded that you used this higher pressure?

I get nice even wear. I have found that running lower pressures provided noticeable softer ride, handling not as crisp.

Funny, I had a few times when I was not keeping track of tire wear when I wore the things down to slicks completely evenly. Failed inspection with my winter tires on my RS6 once (was crazy busy and was not doing my usual car check routine) and in my '97 M3 I used to milk ever last drop of tread out of my Michilin PS1's.

In the winter you'll find older mechanics lowering the pressure in your tires for you with the OLD belief that it improves snow traction. That is false. What improves winter traction is using winter tires LOL.

Ummmm...
My stupid computer that is built into the BMW says 35 PSI recommended pressure. The question is, why does his say 42 PSI ?
Europe ? Deda is fat ? maybe running a full load all the time ? <-- enter jokes.
Something is off.

Deda, do you have a sticker inside your drivers door ? what does that say ?

Is it normal for the left front wheel to always work at a higher temperature? I've always done it in my car

I asked this same question, related to the oil cooler I believe!

My M5C wants 42PSI according to the information inside the door (sticker). I run at that, I was surprised at how high it is as well.

My comment was tongue in cheek, my car reports recommended pressure of 41 for front and 40 for rear, and that is where I have mine.

My Non-comp door sticker says 33psi front 34 psi rear.

What I am wondering is how it can be so different, considering same rims size and vehicle weight. ? Does not matter the suspension, very weird.

My M5 CP says 33 front 34 rear in temperatures of 8deg celsius. which is about right, 40PSI is a joke, must be like riding on bricks

Are you looking at the 20” section of the placard in the door jamb?
