Donnington Track day - shakedown

Right!

managed to get the Radical out on track at Donnington Park last Friday for its shakedown after all of the body and suspension work was carried out by the factory.

did this so i hopefully don't run in to many problems when at Spa next week. 2 days on track - open pitlane.

How did i get on i hear you ask?

very well in deed! the new downforce is significant. the front grip is immense! the rear grip is better, but not as fixed as the front. not to bad, just have to learn to get the tail out

did 7 x 20 minute sessions and carried 3 full fare paying passengers and 1 part fare paying.

best lap time was 1:18.17 average time circa 1:19.00 - 1:20.00

best time in my Z4 (slightly moist conditions) 1:34.00

on track at the same time was a factory run radical SR8 (latest spec driven by a race driver) 1:08. geez it was bl**dy fast!

now all i have to do is get a new set of front tyres (got a flat spot on one and its like running on 50P pieces)

now all i have to do is see if the pain in my arms disapears... the amount of effort needed to now turn the steering wheel is colossal!
