5 wheels instead of 4
Gonna buy new wheels and tires. Of course not run flats, and I don't have a donut. Should I buy 5 instead of 4 and do a 5-way rotation pattern? I see several benefits:
-not really higher tire cost since I'm getting 25% longer life for 25% more $ initially -have a full size spare handy that perfectly matches other tires' wear (don't wanna upset xDrive) -if I lose a tire due to unrepairable puncture, cracked wheel, etc then I can fall back to only having 4 tires like a normal person for the remainder of the season. No need to go out and start over with 4 new tires after getting one puncture -I wanna run square anyways because I don't like understeer and have AWD. Staggered seems silly for a street car like mine. Tell me I'm wrong. |
