Most dealers are not giving any type of discount right now on the X7.

I was offered $2k last week. Give it a month or two. 10% will become the norm. Lower rates on finance and lease coming as well. Bmw sales is forecast to have a 7% decline for March. We should know tomorrow if the forecast is correct

Depends where you are.

I simply made an online inquiry on a couple of free-to-members “car buying services” via Costco and USAA, and without spending even 2 minutes or talking to anyone, I received offers via email correspondence from sales managers from 3 local dealers ranging from 4-6% off msrp on their current X7 40i and 50i stock. I emailed back saying that I was interested in building and ordering a 2020 model X7 when an allocation becomes available and if they would honor a similar discount, to which I received enthusiastic replies from 2 of the dealers saying something like “Of course! Anything I can do to earn your business.”

I’m also in Chicago, so there are actually 9 dealers within 30 miles of me, so that may have something to do with it. This is typically the norm for other makes and models as well. When I ordered an Audi RS7 and received the dealer’s first allocation several years ago, you’d think that an Audi dealer would be crazy to discount early on a more limited-production halo sport model. I got 6% off msrp without much effort.

I think you underestimate the American 3 row market.

Take for example Escalade, gls, navigator.. unless the vehicle is an outgoing body style, you won’t get much $ off

It’s a niche market. Use the navigator as an example, second year body on market, zero incentives and they actually raised the msrp by a few thousand. Aviator will be the same. GM has a redesign around the corner, but up until now the Tahoe, Yukon and Escalade had minimal incentives. Same goes for gls. The markets that will be hurting is the sedan market. But I hope you’re right

Does it really matter if it's "incentives" or "rebates"?

I'm not expecting much in regards to incentives. There are hardly any on the X5 as well - however, you still get up to 10% off.

Talking about 3 row SUVs..incentives on an Audi Q7? I think $1K loyalty but you are still getting at least 10% off - on top of that.

As a Lincoln owner, I can assure you there will be rebates and incentives on the Aviator as well - incentives especially if you are a current Lincoln owner.

In order to compete with the luxury brands at an MSRP at $90K for a fully loaded one, they basically have no choice.

In the end, I do not care a bit if a brands calls it a discount or an incentive. In the end, the final price matters. Lincoln might even go the route of artificially sponsoring the lease-deals, trying to sell the Aviator through lower monthly payments.

Again, not directly an incentive or a rebate but it has the same effect.

Thanks for everyone, i will keep my eyes on market. 2 days ago, i went to local BMW,i gave them offer 6,000 off on $102,000. They wont take it. All of my friends tell me, shopping online is better change to get a great deal.
Is 10% discount on MSRP a normal range to buy new?

It's all a matter of timing.

Right now, I agree, you probably won't get 10% off a X7 anywhere in the country. When I leased my Q7 in 2017, I had to have a dozen local dealerships compete against each other to squeeze out 6% off. Today, the same dealers would kiss my feet if I'd walk into the dealership and offer 10% off.

I believe once the MY20 has launched at full swing, the 10% off on the X7 will be well within reach..

I do have to think the eventual GLS release will have an impact on X7 sales, and therefore discounts.

Most people will not see 10%, total BS, I think a norm would be 4-8% based on location. People like to brag about discounts but they have corporate relationships, have purchased 15 cars, brother is the sales guy etc.
it’ll take year end discount to find $10-15k discounts on 50i’s.

I have no connections, no corporate, nothing and within 4 or 5 emails negotiated almost 7% off msrp via email. And that's a build too, not one on the lot. I won't buy unless 7-8% off. I didnt make the game, they did.

Agreed. And by the end of the year, the Q7 will also get a major facelift.

Where are you located?

Unless you buy in cash, I’m sure they can still find ways to get you. Ie jack up the money factor for a lease

Credits will eventually come but those who are expecting them to come as soon as April will likely be disappointed. BMW may be projecting a sales drop and that may lead people to believe credits will come sooner rather than later but the X7 is still being sold with a waitlist so there is no reason for BMW to give incentives. Instead, you will likely see credits being given on other models.

We'll see, i agreed with Thebingoballs. I dont think they will drop 10% off soon especially this is the brand new model unless they want to push the numbers of the sale on market. Then maybe.

It's a niche market for x6Ms yet most of us got 10%+ off MSRP a year or so after model launch. x7s will sell at similar rates

You can't compare a X7 to a X6M. Both are niche vehicles, but one has far more demand than the other. Will we see some incentives in the future on the X7? Absolutely but don't think they're coming any time soon. Some dealerships already have their May allocations already spoken for and I would imagine others have the same. In the event that a few dealerships have a few in stock, that is small relative to the rest of the market - BMW isn't going to give those $8,000+ credits you typically see on 7er's to help those few dealerships move their inventory when the rest of the market is still hot.

I agree these are very different cars but I am highly confident we will see similar discounts on an x7 soon. I remember first shopping for an x6 in 2011 and being told by the dealer that this is a niche car and not meant to be a volume seller so don't expect any real discounts. Give it 6 months or a little longer and there will be much better deals to have. There is just too much competition for any of these cars to hold pricing.
