M2C trunk opens but slightly
My M2C trunk opens very slightly when I hold the tailgate button on my key FOB.
On the other hand my 335i's trunk pops up completely when doing the same. Is this an expected trunk behavior of M2C? Or is something wrong with the trunk release? See picture with trunk open (it is actually very slightly lifted up but hard to see in picture). I have to manually lift it up.

They are completely different designs. The 2 series has a strut design which is more efficient in terms of packaging - it doesn't intrude into the cargo area. The F30 has a "goose-neck" hinge that allows it to flip all the way open because of the way it's balanced, but it takes up far more space. I imagine the M2 is the more expensive, complicated approach that probably could break in the long run. The F30 is simpler, but less sophisticated design that's more common in all sorts of cars.

Normal. But please post more pics of your LBB M2C for my viewing pleasure. After all this is the internet and I'm entitled to be selfish (also hands down my favorite color and yours looks super clean).

One thing I don't like about that is the fob can accidentally pop the trunk if something in your pocket pushes on it. You don't notice it unless you are in the car and the warning light comes on.

Aha, that might be why I find my trunk lid open every now and then. I hadn't considered the fob being the culprit.

Well, at least after accidentally opening it with the key fob in your pocket, while your jumping up and down with excitement because you just killed everybody in your video game, the trunk won’t get soaked by a passing rain shower.
So there’s that. |

At least a friend told me that's a possible issue.... I like the M2's system much better after that experience! |
