Valve cover or main seals?

this is the sound I am getting. any way I can test the valve cover or main seals?

I don't exactly know the answer to your question but i did have an N55 years back and had the same noise. There were some threads that said it was caused by the pcv but the pcv is integrated on the valve cover. I replaced the valve cover and it didn't do anything to resolve the problem. I ended up selling the vehicle but i always did think it was the mail seal.
