Start assist inactive , reverse lights always on , limited to 5k RPM ?

Hey, so first time posting

Ive got a 2011 E92 N55 6MT,
I've been having this issue were about a minute into driving the car I get a message on my iDrive saying the start assist inactive , my reverse lights are always on (unplugged the reverse lights) and I'm limited to 5K RPM

last year about this time after taking the car from storage I noticed I wasn't getting this message anymore on my iDrive and that my reverse sensors weren't going crazy when someone walked behind the car with it on , so I plugged in my reverse lights again and everything was fine . About 3 months into the year I get the inactive start assist message show up again on my iDrive and my reverse lights have turned back on, and once again limited to only going 5k RPM . I've taking it to the a shop and they've told me they're "guessing" it's the footwell module , but I'm only finding results for the reverse lights related to the footwell module ? Any help would be appreciated and I've also plugged in the MHD app and found no codes on the DME

I noticed when my ABS/DSC hydro failed, I had no start assist on a stick (I loved it), no ABS or DSC, no cruise control. That start assist f ups the rear pads if you ask me, and annoying to boot.

I've only experienced maybe 1,000KM of the start assist before the problem came back 😂😭

You would have to check the DSC module for codes on the assist. They won't show in the ecm. It can be coded out to be inactive as well if it annoys you. The backups lights sounds like a frm issue. The 5k limit problem you mentioned, no clue.

I'm thinking they're all related/connected to the same issue though , as I mentioned last year when I brought it out everything was perfectly fine until 3 months in then ALL went bad at the same time. So I can only assume they're connected in some way? But I could be wrong 😪

If it is a faulty frm, your model falls under the warranty extension of 10 years/156,000 miles as I recall, so that would be a n/c dealer replacement of the frm. Worth looking into.
