Scoring on N52K Valvetronic Gear

I replaced my leaking valve cover gaskets today. In fact I put a whole new cover on with all gaskets that can be replaced and the Valvetronic sensor.

Upon removing the Valvetronic servo motor I noticed some scoring on the gear that is pushed back and forward by the servo's worm wheel. I am just wondering if this is normal? Have others seen this? The car has 2008 E91 328xi Wagon has 107k mi on it and is running very well otherwise. I searched e90post but I only found a few references, but no focus.

Here is a picture of where I was observing this, shamelessly stolen from the Pelicanparts website. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of my actual gears in the middle of the work.

When I relearned the stops on the servo with ISTA/D I could hear the servo actuate. I feel it is more noisy than it should be, it almost squeals a bit, but I have no point of reference on 'what is normal'. Of course, when the engine is running, the servo motor noise is almost masked. I understand the worm wheel sees a lot of force from all the springs on the Valvetronic axle.

Any advise/insights would be welcome!
