Wife just doesnt understand the meaning of modding, anyway I wanted and I got it. Paid a little under $945 with all the bulbs intact on ebay. Just got to find a babysitter and wait for the 6000K D1S bulbs to comes in. Here is a preview

I was looking into those. He said it comes with the ballast....would it be possible to change these from standard halogens to these?

Explorer3253: For full retrofit on halogen-equipped cars, you'd require far more hardware (quite extensive)....

I believe (and from what I read) the following is required for full retrofit (as oppossed to swaps)...
Xenon wiring harness Rear level sensor wiring harness ALC wiring harness Connection cable Right headlight Left headlight 2 x level sensors Rear control rod Front control rod Rear holder Control rod holder Front holder 4 x Allen screw M5 x 10 2 x Expanding nut M6 2 x Hexagonal screw M6 x 16mm 3 x Hexagonal nut M6 Collar nut M12 x 1.5 20 x Cable ties 200 x 3.6mm 2 x Warning stickers 2 x Miniature connectors I think some other control modules...also will require programming at BMW ctr...

I'm with Timezero, I hope that is not a cut wire or wires. If it is, I hope it's not a problem! Danny

Yup those are expensive, so you gotta ask yourself is a little amber that bad. I can't afford to pay one grand for clears. But I wish I could. I'll take the cheap route and stick with my ambers.

Nice Euros!!! I hope those cut wires won't affect the install somehow. Hopefully its a plug n play operation. Post some pics after install when u get a chance.

Holy Crap! That's a great price! I didn't see that auction when I ordered mine. I paid 1799 at Roveractive... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7976738710 Mine were new, though. The dealer had no problems putting them in.

By the way, does anyone know if auto insurance will cover these if we're in an accident? Since they are not DOT approved I wonder if we can insure them.
