Ds2500 dust levels?

Hi,

There seem to be mixed opinions on how dusty the Ferodo ds2500 pads are -please can people with experience of them let me know if they are worse/better/same as compared to stock m2 pads?

Cheers.

Worse, but pedal feel, braking power, and fade are better than OEM.

I am 6 months in with the Ferodo DS 2500 on my fronts only...my impression is that the dusting and bite is very similar to OEM, no squealing and undoubtably more fade resistant on the track. I like em!!!!

Thanks for the feedback.

The other option I was thinking of was the porterfield r4s as they are supposed to be good but with very low dust. However, I am leaning towards the ds2500 as they are more proven.

The Ferodo DS2500's are one of the most versatile pads we've ever used across any brand. They typically have dust on par with OEM pads, but crush OEM pads on every performance metric. Most notably, they can take a serious beating, not fade, and then carry you to the store for a sandwich. OEM pads just don't hold up the same or have the max operating temps of the DS2500. In our opinion, they are the best mixed use (street/track) pad available anywhere. They are essentially a light duty track pad with very good road manners.

Dust level is just a tad more than OEM. Properly installed you should have little to no noise(properly bed-in). You will have much more bite for both and track duty. It's a wonderful hybrid pad if not the best one out there right now for the M2.

For the road the DS2500 is a good choise and maybe light track use, but if you are a fast trackday driver they are not good enough and cant take the heat like a real racepad. I ran some laps on the Nordschleife with DS2500 front and rear and the track is not that hard on the brakes, but the front brakes did not handle it very well. I run AP Racing CP9660 on the front with no extra cooling, but I will mount some kind of brake cooling soon.

Now I run DS Uno on the front and DS 1.11 on the rear and it is night and day compared to the DS2500, but they make a lot of noise after some miles on the road after a trackday so I change back to DS2500 for road driving.
