X2 coded!

After 2 F30's i picked up and X2 and finally decided to get some coding done. That is I did it myself AND MY CAR STILL RUNS! LOL

Windows no go down AND up with key fob.
Mirrors fold/unfold when i lock/unlock the vehicle.
Fog lights stay on with high beams.
Rear lights on with DRL.

It was a lot easier than I thought it would be!!

Bimmercode app with the Veepeak OBDCheck BLE OBD2 from Amazon.

It was a LOT easier than I thought. Just a simple check/uncheck of what you want active and you're done.
I'm sure there were some more complex items that I could have looked at but for what I was doing it was a quick 123.

Thanks Roger. Do you know if the Bimmercode let's you permanently switch off the disclaimer on Idrive, and also whether you can set it to remember the last drive-experience selection permanently (eg Power, Normal, Eco)?

Did you have any problems, and did you need to have the car on charger while flashing?

cheers

I shut off my disclaimer but didn’t mess with drive mode memory but the first is definitely yes.

I did shut off the disclaimer also. I don't know if the drive mode memory is in the "expert" mode but then again I didn't know that was an option lol. I don't remember seeing it though.

I read somewhere about someone's battery dying while coding so I kept mine running while I was doing it. only restarted to see the different startup options. I did panic when I coded "BMW 2" and it came up with the "John Cooper Works" logo!

hi guys
according to Bimmercode's website:

Default driving mode
The default driving mode on start-up.

Values:

Comfort
ECO PRO
ECO PRO+
Sport
Available in “Body Domain Controller” BDC_01

Driving mode memory
Enable the driving mode memory. The last used driving mode is stored when the car is turned off and restored on the next start-up. Use a backup to revert this coding once it has been applied.

Values:

Active
Available in “Body Domain Controller” BDC_01

I'd love to the driving mode memory, as well as the disclaimer and keeping memory for seat heating to 'unlimited', and disabling auto start-stop! Just fewer buttons for me to press each time I get into my car

BillnChristy - which OBD device did you use?

I might keep my battery on a charger so it doesn't die during the flash. I did this when I flashed my old 335i....

cheers

OBDLink mx +

The BDC is the only one that takes significant time, everything else seemed to move pretty quick. I only shut off auto stop/start on mine but it was a tense moment when the ecu reset and a butt ton of errors came up. They all cleared.

I just ordered the OBDLINK LX.. I actually couldn't tell what the difference is between the LX, MX, and MX+ I just have so many obdii adapters it's getting a little out of hand. I was hoping that I could have used my KDCAN cable and the OTG cable to make it work, but bimmercode emailed me back and said the ONLY ones that work are those listed.. Can't wait to code out some of those things, the auto start/stop is a little annoying... and I'm always reverting to sport mode at this point.

Zippity zap...my obdlink came in and I went through everything and coded it. I did all of the above plus changed the seats to roasting hot (for winter). I changed the seatbelt chime duration down since a lot of my passengers seem oblivious to the chime and it annoys me. I did see the welcome screen change when rebooting but honestly don't remember seeing it when I turn on the car.

I really wish there was a value for the heated steering wheel temperature. I've been combing the net to see if there is an advanced line anywhere with no luck so far.

Haven't gone for a ride without the active exhaust sound off.. But there was a subtle background white noise that stopped when I was coding it..I think I'll like it.

I also wish that I could edit the throttle tables for eco mode.. It's entertaining to watch the eco work.. But boy the throttle pedal is a dog.. Kind of feels it's off at least three gears on the highway when I simply tried to keep up with traffic when we were going up a slope!

Oh yeah I turned ASD off too.

It's not present in comfort, it's the drone in sport.

so before I buy I am looking at BimmerCode and either the Veepeak OBDCheck BLE OBD2 or OBDLink MX+ Other than the price difference (42 dollars) is there a reason to get one over the other, both are supported. I am going to use an iPhone 5s that is not in service to run the software. This will be my first attempt at an IOS device.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is ASD? Thanks.

I got the OBD2 based on price alone. Hopefully the iPhone 5s can get it all squared away for you. Good luck!

Does the bimmercode app show the current or default settings for each value before you make changes?

Yes it does.. Plus it creates a "backup" so you can choose to reload it later. Some value that are "unassigned" you need to restore the backup once you turn it on/off.

Hey there. Anyone know how to customize/code (using Bimmercode Expert) the ability for the Fogs/Cornering Lights to turn on with Low Beams?

Thanks!

Are most of these coding options (like remembering drive mode, disabling engine auto start/stop, turning on rear lights, etc) part of the 'basic' options, or do any require going into 'advanced' mode?

cheers
