Best way to mount phone for dedicated MHD monitor/gauges?

I’m leaning towards hardwiring power to the left driver side vent but don’t know which mount works best. Looking for input based on what you all have done. Let me see them setups!

FYI I have factory nav screen and mount for my cell in center console area

I used a mount from pro clip with an optional magnet(so it could be used for multiple devices, but you can get a dedicated specific device mount also)

I really like it. Feels extremely solid and unless I pry the dash panel apart it's not coming off.

They have other style mounts also, depending on where you want it;

+1 for ProClip. It's expensive for what it is, but totally worth it for the integration

I've got one that mounts near my ash tray. I like it a lot. If I had to do it again, I'd probably do the higher mount so it's easier to see.

I was going to get that one for my phone in case I had the tablet up at the same time.

Does it get in the way of the passengers legs at all?

Nope unless they're over 6.5 feet and don't scoot the seat back. Then their knees might touch it, but other than that it's pretty much out of their way.

I use a CD slot mounted, sprung phone holder. It obscures your vents less and who even owns a CD these days?

After having two different quality ones break off in my cd player, i looked for a more complete solution. They bounced and vibrated too much on our shit roads, having two attachment points seems crucial for me.

I don't use my cd player, but if I wanted to, now I can't.

Just ordered a pro clip. Thanks for the suggestions. In the event I want a second option, anyone running a vent clip? Any decent ones available that work well with our vent grills (specifically drivers side)?

I've been using vent clips forever. The vents in the bmw have too much play for me to be happy doing that and they really dont like a larger phone or tablet. Always bounces around or tilts down.

Good call on the pro clip, you'll like it. Install is straight forward just read instructions.

I guess my roads here are okay as this mount seems to be going strong.

It did loosen , but i was able to pop it a part and tighten the screw.

I paid $10 bucks.

Thinking about doing this myself
Doesn’t look too expensive and seems like it would clean up the inside from cords etc
