Should I Buy a 335i?

Too late because I already did!

Hey everyone! Currently an owner of an e36 vert (booooring) but I just picked up a 2007 E90 335i (fuuuuunnn). Black on Black with Sport package suspension, paddle shifters, and the lovely 162 wheels. This is my first automatic car and I'm against them in a turbo platform like the n54 but I just couldn't pass up on the deal. I've been getting used to the paddle shifters...

I got her about two months ago with 103k on the odometer and here's what's been done so far:

Walnut Blasting @104k
Serpentine Belt W/ Pullies @104k (had some squeaking)
OFGH @104k (slight leaking)
Alternator @104k (took a dump 5 minutes after i drove off the mechanics lot for the 3 previous fixes. What are the chances?)

Had these 4 done at Offset Motorwerks. I originally was going to take it to him to just walnut blast the valves and have myself do the serpentine belt/pullies and OFGH but he gave me a fantastic deal. He also said my car looked really clean underneath around the oil pan and gasket which was great news!

VANOS Solenoids @105k Easy DIY
Spark Plug and Coils @105k Another Easy DIY

Water Pump and T-stat replaced at 93k (before purchase)

I was a bit worried when Vanos went bad, was hoping it was just the solenoids and not the dreaded cam ledges I've been hearing about. Got lucky this time!

I just installed a Cobb (simultaneously with plugs and coils), put on Stage 1 Sport with Drop-in Filter and boy does it pull, holds nearly 14lbs of boost ! Datalogs look good too. I add 1-2 gallons of E85 as well just to be on the safe side having access only to weak 91ACN.

Before I get roasted about the Cobb, I loved the idea of plug n play with all the OTS maps, and got one at a great price so couldn't pass it up. Once I'm FBO then I'll go MHD with a custom tune, probably an e30 blend until i upgrade my lpfp. The cobb getting the job done for now though

Anyways, It's great to be part of such a great tunable platform and have the refined luxury of a bmw. I'm really excited and you'll be hearing more from me!

Not sure if there’s a question involved here...

Anyway, enjoy the car, you’ll love it and it looks great!

Same here! I did some maintenance, so now I can justify to myself doing some upgrades

Off to an awesome start. Well done.

Heavily suggest an intercooler, especially living in Cali.

Put a XHP tune on that transmisson, especially if you like using manual mode. Best money you'll spend.

Thanks! I did tons of research on this car before purchasing (A MUST) so I had an idea of what I was getting into.

A 5'' VRSF Stepped FMIC is on the way along with a CP, cant wait to put these in! I'm also definitely gonna look into the XHP tune, as I'm always driving in M mode even if just cruising.

XHP is a major game changer if you enjoy manual mode.

I mean it works great for everything, but M mode users get particular favors.

Would you be willing to share the ball park price range you picked it up for?

Where did you find it? I've been looking around LA for another E90 and haven't seen this one. I am focused on looking for a manual but I see all the ads, surprised I haven't seen this.

Nice car! Love the wheels too, they're my favorite.
