Anyone with modded exhaust on B58 in Central NJ?

I'm trying to convince the wife that our 340 needs to be louder ...

I've searched for a while for videos, but many of them do not put the noise level into context or are just starts and no revs. I'd like to hear something in person to prove that an axle-back or resonator delete would be worth it!

B58 and N55 are very similar in terms of sound. I went from stock to full catback AWE... Trust me you want the exhaust upgrade! I would honestly just get a MPE off eBay for like $700. Seems like you aren't looking for anything too crazy, so axel-back would be a good start. If you want more after that you can do resonator delete or catless downpipe. I'm going to Top Gear car show in Paramus on Sunday if you are there you can hear mine! Else here just some info

That's great to hear! I was kinda hoping to keep the duality of the sport/comfort modes (that's the reason I was considering doing only midpipe), but first thing I do after starting it is put it into sport.

I'm also planning on going to Paramus, but from what I hear from friends, it looks like it will be rained out ...

An axel back would be perfect for what you're looking for. especially if you're not trying to ruin warranty i'm assuming? Car show seems like a good turn out if the rain holds up, id deff take the trip and meet up with people if its a go!

With the stock cat in the car really isn't loud until you get on it, and if you use comfort and sport/sport+ you will notice a difference even without having the closing valve. If you keep transmission in D and keep chassis on comfort then the car is quite while moving. When you move tranny to sport/manual and put chassis on sport/sport+ you will understand why you will never look back

I am likely going regardless to Paramus so if you want to PM me I can give you my number if you would like to hear it at the show! Else I really don't go to NJ that much haha

Like the standard "drive" gear on the trans. Pushing left gives you sport trans which will change your shift timings or toss into manual to get all the backfires (well not with stock exhaust )

Sadly Paramus is cancelled, they posted earlier this morning. No word yet as to a reschedule, also nothing of a refund so I'm assuming it will get rescheduled.

It's a joke because my car has the 6-speed manual

Rain date looks like June 9.

I also have a AWE catback on my car and I LOVE (if there was anything higher it would be that) it. My wife got me the Touring Edition with performance midpipe for xmas a couple of years back and I've even had the neighbors comment on how nice it sounds (which shocked me). I only drive in sport mode so I wouldn't be able to tell you how it sounds without sport mode enabled

With that said if I am on the phone via bluetooth and get on it even a little, the other person can hear it which makes work conference calls fun! Would highly recommend anything AWE makes and not just because they are local to me!

The MPPSK is a resonator delete, MPE muffler, a flash, and some cosmetics, right?

I'd like to be somewhat louder, but I'm not sure if going for a performance muffler and midpipe in one go will go straight to overbearing. Bah.

I've got the MPPSK on a 440i and in Jersey often.

Lol, it's LOUD. Might even be louder than my M4 CS. Anything more becomes obnoxious.

I live in the Fort Dix area. Right now i have the AWE midpipe and AP intake if you wanted to hear it in person. I have a DP waiting to be installed again that makes it fairly loud by any standard. Let me know if you want to link up.
