would love for it to look like that... except this is what we have been told the design is trending toward

I'm not seeing how this:

turns into this:

The kidney grille openings appears to be taller on the mule than on the render but maybe that's because there aren't any actual grilles in the openings yet.

The large lower intakes also don't appear in the same position on the mule and on the render. On the render, they're further outboard, under the outside head light. On the mule they appear much further inboard and would be right where the vertical body element on the render is, between the inner and outer lower intake openings.

That said, I've seen early mules in person and they sometimes have sheets of plastic literally screwed into the underlying sheet metal with sheet metal screws, to completely hide the underlying shape. Only when the B&W camo wrap is applied to smooth body panels can you have any idea what the actual shapes are.

///M cars front lower opening is always bigger at the bottom than the top. Opposite of the series cars. This one is wrong.

I like it, but this is not how it's going to look like. Especially the front will be way different since it will share the front of the new 4er. And I don't think the M3 will have the same rims as the X3 M.

This is just a rendering using mostly existing designs from 3 4 5 series. Masked/test cars are pretty much strictly for R&D. Hence they wont bother to finish panels and bumpers.

The grille is from the current G20. The front bumper is a good render between the F80 and G20. I like this design but it wouldn't look exactly like this.

Kinda wack... F8X is much more distinctively aggressive and M-looking.

I think the real one will be closest to the Evo green car.

Thanks for taking your time to support the very much appreciated hints you provided on the 4 series and G8X front fascia since the render in this thread looks nothing like it and IMO is too much of the same and a bit boring.

Btw. I’m a fan of the radical change to the G05’s front and I like the X7’s front. The F15 is handsome but the G05 looks fresher and more interesting as it should. I can hardly wait to see how the G8X really look. The more like the CSL homage the better

Exactly .. those grilles look tacked on for sure. I'd be surprised if they looked like the wild concept photo floating around ... the M3 has never deviated all that much from the standard car.... little here, little there. Some may still consider it "revolutionary" from f80 and lots of different parts than the G20 but i bet the M235i is close to what we get. Purely my hunch.

I'm seeing X7's everywhere here (Greenville SC) and I like them. A lot. The new G80 is going to be just fine. Don't worry.

I think the M3 will look something between the homage, and the 5/7 series. Grills may not look super long or tall, but will certainly be more distinct. I just hope they may it look like the EVO green render w those wheels. Would be nice not to have to buy another set of wheels.
