Stage 2, been running stock DV for over a year, no issues yet.
Mostly avoiding the upgrade because it's a pain to install. |

Stage 2, Stock DV
I have the GFB sitting in my garage for about a year now ... just haven't installed because of the PITA job to do it.

Should have added another option for people who have it sitting around somewhere, but not installed. I have seen quite a few people mention this lol

I have the DV+ upgrade, I wanted to have it all done in one shot and not have a potential problem after the tune.

Seriously dude. ESPECIALLY if you have xDrive. I wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy. I had access to a lift and practically every tool imaginable and it was an ORDEAL.
I will say this (at least with xDrive) -- when you do it, just plan to remove the intercooler and drain the coolant/move the water pump out of the way. It probably won't take much longer but will save you tons of frustration.

I have MHD stage 2+ with gfb DV installed. With the right tools the key being a a long hex key socket with extensions on the rwd car. Drop the intercooler move the water pump and bracket and it gives you just enough access. I have noticed an improved throttle response and smoother shifts under power. Only downside was it's quieter than the stock valve and I do love that sound and miss the loud psssshhhhh.

Right now, stock, but I'll be flashing bm3 soon with no plans to upgrade DV, so I voted "Tuned, Stock DV". Doesn't seem worth the hassle to me unless you're also upgrading turbo, fueling, etc.

I am in the exact same situation. If it were an easier job I'm sure at least 3/4 of tuned people would do it since the part is relatively cheap.

We typically recommend the DV+ for anyone over 35K miles as that is when the stocker tends to start wearing. Most don't notice until it's replaced.

Maybe I just have a good one because I have 70k on the car, 25k of that on stage 2 tune and logs show that I'm holding boost quite well.
