Oil life monitor?
Recently I’ve noticed that, when I try to check the oil in my e90, I go to my dash screen (I don’t have Idrive) and click on oil that it doesnt work.
The screen tries to load, but eventually seems to just time-out and doesn't work. I even try to let the car warm up and drive a few miles before trying it and still no luck. Used to work just fine, but not so much anymore. Only 108,000 miles too, so it’s not like it’s a software issue where it just stops working at 175k or something. Thoughts? Can the monitor be replaced? … is it even worth it? If only BMW put a damn dipstick on their cars…

Eh, I take my car to the dealer so I would think they would check that? Maybe not? But 30 times... my car is a 2008, I’ve owned it since 2010 and 2 oil changes a year, so close to 30 perhaps but I doubt I’m quite there yet.

I think he's saying it no longer does that, even after a few minutes. |

If you let it sit for 5-10 minutes idling, does it still say it's waiting? The car does use accelerometers to delay oil measurements. If it exceeds a certain amount, it will wait.
