Coming from TL to BMW !

There is a reason why it is Ultimate.

My TL used to ride ALMOST like BMW with all of these in place

-Just serviced
-All four tires inflated to 34.500005 :-)
-A/C not running (steering looses its nimbleness)
-Co-driver sitting next to me
-Sand bag in the trunk.

Quite a feat Ha !!

I think the OP is saying he had a TL, thought it was da bomb, then stepped up to a E90. Now he realizes what he was missing this whole time.

My second car was a TL, loved it, but their designs have gone WAY WAY downhill.

I just got e92 LAST NIGHT. I still have my 02 Acura TL. I still prefer my (soft) TL seats over the new (stiff) e92 ones. Oh well, I guess. I am still reading the driver's manual. Heh.

However, the driving performance is night and day!

I drive a TL and all I do is think about owning an E90. The 335i was not out in 2006 when I bought my Acura. If it was I would have jumped to BMW then.

Now I'm forced to spend hours each day reading this forum (and driving my wife crazy) as I wait to buy a 2009. Only question is whether I will get the 335i or M3 in March of 2009.

But............the.............wait............... .is............killing.........me!!

How can you say that? The new TL looks good!

I had a TL TypeS btw 2003 and that car still looks good on the road!

Only to decide between the M3 or 335i. After hearing all the issues with 29.2 I'm really concerned about voiding a warranty after modding a 335i (something I cannot live without). I'm trying to wait on an M3 but that's another $15K that might be hard to get.

The TL is a very nice car. I cross shopped it before I got my E90. The problem I had with it was the torque steer. It's just too much power going through the front wheels. No matter what type of suspension geometry the engineers come up with, it will never perform/handle like a RWD vehicle. Otherwise, a very nice car.

Beware though....according to the most recent C&D magazine, it's going to have a face lift soon, just like the TSX just received.

Not a face lift. It's a whole new TL. Gonna have SH-AWD.

I had a 3rd gen TL before my E90. It was an ok car. The interior seemed really nice at first but after a while you realized how bad the quality of the materials were. Staplers to hold the e-brake boot? LOL Car was pretty fast but handling was all over the place. And that annoying driveline vibration....
