Coilover options

Hey guys I installed the kw has kit and I’m not happy how the car sits . Not low enough for especially with my 21’s . The front does not sit as low as the rear and looks off . KW V4’s are just out of my range at 4K+ . Any ideas ?

H&R M550i springs ... several folks here running on 21" setups and they look good. Ride quality seems to be good as well. Not Coils but will work if you want to go lower and not break the bank.

Isn’t BMW coming out with M performance coil overs? Anyone know when those are due out?

It was my understanding it would be a sleeve kit (HAS) but not 100% sure.

I feel that the fronts on the H&R M550 springs are lower than the KW Kit bottomed out; the rears on the KW go plenty low, at least for me.

I recently measured the wheel gap on an F90 M5 w/ the 550 H&R's and the front appeared .. mind you I measured with my finger and it was night.

V4 solves this but $$$$$.

Others have mentioned M Performance releasing coilovers or a sleeve kit but I've not seen anything yet.

Yeah.... I guess I’ll have to wait and see maybe other brands are going to release a coil setup , kw should of also offered a cheaper v3 option

You can also check out Bc extreme low coil overs for the f90 but I think it deletes the edc function. Haven't seen anyone use this setup yet

They have them on turnermotorsport website. For a good price it has a really low drop. https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-5...g-extreme-low/ there's the link to it

I got a great deal on the v4s and happy I made the investment. Car rides so smooth and handles corners even better. The height for me is perfect on 21’s. There’s more to go if you wanted it even lower than this

I'm on the HAS kit and I opted to raise the car up a bit since it was too low on its lowest setting. After a few tries, I feel its perfect now. Not sure how much lower you would like to go. See pic for reference:

In the top picture, I think the distance from the wheel to the fender is perfect. Most KW HAS kits I see people have a bigger gap in the front. I love the way yours sits. Was this picture in it's lowest setting or after you raised it?

Also, did you use spacers at all for offset?

That's my car on H&R M5 Sport Springs. No adjustability...but ride height is good for me.

Thanks dardeca You input will be useful to compare what we get from Eurohorses if he gets a chance to reply to the thread and take measurements of his KW from the ground to top of fender (front and rear). I'm sure Hockeytyme would also like to know

Why measure from ground to fender? That measurement could easily change based on tire wear, tire pressure, etc... You're better off measuring from center of wheel to fender to eliminate any variables.

I'll try to measure once i get back from vacation. I'm currently soaking up my final days in Barbados.

Thanks! These pics were taken after i played with the height a few times. I would literally performed half turn increments daily until i was satisfied.

I'm running 15mm spacers up front and 12mm rears.

Agree, it would be more accurate from center or from bottom of the rim.

I figured his set up looks brand new including tires and it would be quicker to get measurement from ground than trying to find center using a straight edge etc.

At some point it is correct. But there is no reference point on center since anyone's "center" can be off by 1/8" or 3-4mm from true dead center.

Yes I agree anyone's measurement can be off by 1/8" or 3-4mm, but there is no other point between the fender and ground where wheel and/or tire variables won't change the measurement.

The point where the blue and white of the BMW logo meets on the center cap should be relatively easy to spot for most.
