everyone with air suspension

a few questions...

1) can the air suspension be wore off with constant use? wife is prego and lowers the car every time she gets in and out. seem like quite a bit lately, maybe 4-5 times a day.

2) I've tested driving at max and min heights. Seem like it goes back to normal height after 20mph. can others confirm at what speed yours goes back to normal?

Just to add to the questions and avoid duplication of threads, can anyone confirm what happens to the car when the suspension is lowered through the tailgate button for the purpose of loading things? Specifically, at what point does the vehicle return to normal suspension setting after closing the liftgate?

Anything can get worn out but I would not worry about it. You got it to use and especially in your wife's condition if it makes her more comfortable use it.

I have never looked to see when it is adjusted to normal height so cannot help you on that one.

2. Here's the 2-axle height logic. It was always revert to Normal ride height until 87mph:

If you adjust to +40mm, the highest ride height, it will only stay in that height until 18mph. Good for extreme off-roading or fording through high water.

+20mm until 27mph.

-10mm, auto lowering, is 87 to 124mph only in Dynamic. It's not driver selectable and you will not be informed when it auto lowers to this level

-20mm Sport mode - manually selectable and will stay until you park and turn off the X5

-40mm is Load only

Not on the Sport mode.
It only goes back to normal after you park and lock the car.

my understanding from the graph is... if your in sport mode, its at -20mm. On tailgate loading, its at -40mm. its only at -40mm at stand still.

While at -40mm (tailgate loading), it will raise back once you start driving; at sport it will go to -20mm, at dynamic it will go to -10mm, at normal driving will be go to +/-0.

You can also manually put the car to -20mm in any mode and it will stay there until you park/restart the car
