My X6 xDrive50i is delivered

Hi guys, just wanted to share you a photo of my new X6 xDrive50i. I just got the car today evening and drove it for 2 hours only. My borhter has a Cayenne Turbo And little comparising the X6 is much better, easy to drive, more fun, lighter and more comfort. The Cayenne has better engine sound and I feel its faster thn the X6 but im not sure.

The X6 V8 in Oman cost around $115,000 and I bought dual spoke wheels 21".

We are curious to learn what kind of gas mileage you are seeing.

Those wheels look amazing. I think I like those the most out of all that I've seen so far on an X6. Congratz.

It does look good with the running boards. I am still deciding if I want to add them.

After you have had a chance to drive the beast, can you provide feedback on the running boards? i.e. Aside from looks, are they functional or get in the way?

Well the running board looks cool and nice, it gives the car more sporty look but its not that functional, its more for looks i think and it comes standard for all X6 with our dealer.

I will try to send you few pics with the running boards so you can see them clearly.

Looks sweet. I have same color and love those wheels. I would have ordered them but will probably go with 22s after I burn thru my first set of wheels.

The X6 50i should be very close to Cayenne Turbo in stock mode and may slightly lose but should certainly beat the Cayenne once Dinan comes out with their tune very soon. I was actually contacted by Dinan to have my X6 as their development vehicle but I could not be without my baby for up to 6 weeks door to door.

They are looking for someone in CA, if possible to be their development vehicle and will give them the software upgrade ($3000) for free. Output shoud be somewhere around 475-490hp and 530-550lbs torque

Someone needs to hurry up and jump on this one so we can all benefit!!

I was contacted although given much less time I would be without my X6 ( a week). The problem I have with after market tuning is basically two things, This replaces my x5 which we use to go on trips to Arizona, Nevada, etc. Sometimes we are in the middle of no where.
I can see it breaking down being towed to the dealer and having them say "well that will be $6000 for the repair, $3000 because the car has been modified and $3000 because you have California plates" (numbers fictitious). Other one is the gas mileage is not great to begain with but I can live with it. So having one with that much juice would be great just can't accept the down side.

Smart move. if you search the forums, you will see a service bulletin that states BMW is now able to detect after market turbo kits and as a result the warranty will be void on the engine. Even if you remove the chip before service, they can still detect as the boost level is recorded.

the only after market chips BMW recognizes is Dinan but that is only for non-turbo cars.
