Unhappy 6000k Bulbs, now adaptive headlight problems!

So yesterday morning I went down to the post office to pick up my new 6000k bulbs purchased from suvlights.com. Stop by my friends shop after work to install them.

No real problems during installation I can think of except for a few minutes of trying to figure out how to get the metal clip off of the rear of the bulb.

As soon as I drive away I notice the little green light next to the automatic setting on the headlamp knob is blinking. I look up to see a warning on the dash and the attached i-drive screen.

When I got home, I parked in front of the garage and tried turning the steering wheel - absolutely no movement of the headlamps!

Any ideas what happened? Could this be something simple we missed, or am I goin to the dealer?

On a positive side, the bulbs look great!

bump .. anyone have any input?

life is too short to sweat these little things but it's driving me NUTS!

I made an appointment with the dealership for Monday AM just in case, but I would love of course to resolve this on my own.

That's wierd. They might have forgot to plug somthing back. Did you check the connections under the hood?

I installed mine with no problems.

I'm going to go back to the shop tonight and have them take a look at it.

Now that the code is there though, is it possible for it to dissapear, or is this something the dealer needs to reset?

Not sure about this but it's worth a look. You could check if this was left unplugged. I took a pic from behind the left headlight.

dropped the car off at the dealer this morning -- just got off the phone.

they told me a headlight assembly needed to be replaced along with the motors.

i told them about my new headlight bulbs and they said they will use the existing bulbs in the new headlights.

i wonder what happened?

got the car back a few hours ago

they swapped out the drivers side head light assembly.

the 6000k bulbs look great. upon bringing the car home i noticed the new headlight was aimed WAAAAAAY too high, so i searched my trusty e90post and fixed it in a few minutes.

no one was able to give me an answer as to what happened, what was damaged or what caused it.

i'm just happy it was covered! :rocks:
