M2 Competition Stock Baseline Dyno

Decided to take my M2C for a baseline dyno before I start flashing in the coming weeks.

Only mod is the AA midpipe. Completely stock otherwise (including OE carbon filters) Fuel is Shell 91ACN and judging by the timing scatter in my datalogs it's not very good. SAE Format (Reads lower than STD)

Crank or wheel? Amazing that each run increased power, surprised there was no heat soak. From my experience on the dyno, first run is the best followed by a 5-10% drop off in power.

Wheel for sure. Pretty high reading but when you add in the alleged hp and torque increase that AA midpipes advertise (15 hp and 30 tq) it's about right i suppose. On dynos YMMV

Got it dynoed at FSR Motorsports which I've had my M3 dynoed before many (100+) times. This is wheel power/torque. You can't manipulate dynojet readings and it's always been really accurate. I had my doubts that the AA midpipe did anything but I think this shows some proof at the very least. Either way it's a baseline so we'll see what happens once I get her tuned to my liking.

Dyno air temp was 82'F and humidity around 47% for reference. I also had less than a minute between runs. Sport+ mode.

Potentially this week. I have the Ecutek and my long time tuner will be custom tuning it to my preference. Racerom Flexfuel will release sometime in the near future hopefully which is the big ticket I've been waiting for. I want to get this car fully flex like my M3.

Really nice results! Btw I believe the scatter is because of the output format (i.e. Smoothing=0). In most of the graphs I've seen the smoothing is set to 5. Here's an example of couple dyno graph with different smoothing value:

No the smoothing of 0 is how I prefer to look at the dynorun files. I also prefer SAE format but most new gen bmw owners like the inflated numbers of STD format.

Smoothing 0 gives very clear data on how clean the tune is and is easy to identify any issues. Albeit I'm usually pushing a lot more power on the dyno with my M3 as an example and high smoothing of 5 can hide a pretty nasty misfire. Here's an example of my M3 on low/high boost:

The logs I'm referring to are the ones I pulled with my Ecutek connect app. The timing scatter between Cyl1-6 is what I was looking at.

Yeah you've had a rough go with the leaking turbo and blown engine. Hope it gets resolved for you in a timely manner.

For reference... here's what my old M2 made on the same dyno with 0 smoothing & SAE

Hopefully CommanderWiggin's and I will be able to hit up FSR on the same day and test DCT vs 6MT

Dynojets are very generous with the numbers, at least in comparison to mustangs.

Mustangs can be manipulated; dynojets cannot which makes the dynojet one of the best to use to compare. A mainline would be best for tuning optimization but my preference will always be dynojet.

It's tuned currently and my tuner has been dialing the calibration to my specific requests. Sport+ throttle has been tweaked to my preferences and flat torque power delivery. We are also exploring a bunch of new beta items at the moment...all in all it's been awesome. I'll bring it back to the dyno when we're finished. Flexfuel is releasing within a few weeks so that will be another addition for my car. I don't expect a trip to the dyno for several months. Estimated peak power is around 500hp at the moment based on logs.

500 whp? What mods do you have now, just tune and midpipe?
