Guess what I saw yesterday in Spartanburg....
We were there to take delivery of our X3M40i and went on the factory tour. As far as I know I signed no NDA. They did warn us no pics could be taken, though did not say we could not say what we saw...
I am pretty sure I saw an X3M on the production line being assembled. I saw the following on the vehicle; 1. Quad pipes on the rear in either black chrome or gloss black 2. Red interior. Definitely not Tartufu. It was RED. 3. Left side drive, both Right and Left side drive vehicles get assembled here. All X3s as a matter of fact are assembled here. 4. M badging on front quarter panel behind front wheel well 5. Black kidneys! Is there a possibility some other countries have these option packages I am not aware of on M40is? At the end of the tour, I asked the tour guide and he either feigned ignorance and/or gave me a deflective answer that would neither confirm or deny that 2020 models were already being assembled.... As we were walking out, I told my wife, "I know what I saw.....". My wife had some mild appreciation since she used to be a manufacturing engineer, but gave that head shake and expression saying..."Jeez, this is what it is like to marry a gearhead..." |

+1 yup, they already started production and probably sprinkled in between other X3 lines. Congrats on seeing one up close and personal. It wont be much longer until they start popping up at dealers.

Yep, wrote about seeing X3M/X4M during our factory tour while picking up our X3 M40i two months ago. They are in the wild now.
