Cool Finally got car, remote 3D view and other ConnectedDrive issues


Got my new car today. Love it! Drove it 90 minutes home and it was easier than I expected.

My connected Drive settings are all turned on in the car. I’ve confirmed that several times, but the remote view, and horn won’t function. I’m sitting in my house with solid WiFi.

The red line at the bottom of the page, above “sending to vehicle”, just keeps frantically going from left to right, quickly.

Any thoughts?

Tried the horn and same result for me too
So I deleted then reinstalled the app.

Tried on mine just now and get the same thing. First time I’ve tried the horn but the remote view has worked in the past so it’s probably one of the troublingly frequent system outages.

Congratulations. We need pictures of course.

Search for process to load the view

First log on the computer and see if you can see car and remote connection is on

Load app, log in.make sure you see car

Go tomyour car and create your profile. Log in with the same email as phone app and computer

Make sure under dara and privacy in settings all ismactivated

Update services, reboot drive.

Mine worked fine for a month of ownership last Friday bmw sent a update for useless experience apps and my conected drive stopped working , I did everything possible, conected people and dealership and so called genius could not fix it , new profiles, new agreement, multiple rebooting, nothing so I have to believe the outage is true ! Now next question how a billion dollar company has such a shit IT team that is taking weeks to fix ???

Yup. I got remote view to work once, but it didn’t show it in my driveway. The BMW “owners” site wasn’t working much of the day yesterday either.

But the fancy enormous desk-sized touch pad they used to have me sign all the docs was cooking right along!

Not familiar with that one - big Paul Simon fan here too. But I have Apple Music so I can look it up and play it, in my car.

BTW, the HK sound system is fantastic. I’m glad I got it!

Dealer Genius said updates wouldn’t work for a while until the car gets “found” by the system. So I plan to give it a few days/week or so and try it again.

I was able to set up my credit card for the payments, but other financial info was “Sorry, we are having issues” or whatever the stupid owners site says, most of the time!

My Genius said the apps are bogus. I haven’t paid much attention to them, but will probably delete them if possible.

She was great, and my SA sat in the back seat with us and was helpful also. Love that dealership. They have a stellar reputation for a reason.

IG Burton in Milford, Delaware if anyone is interested. Close to the Delaware beaches. Dylan is my SA, and is a really great kid.

Can’t upload photos. I’ll try to put them in an album. I think the files sizes are too big.

I’m going to give it a few days before I give up and start reloading.

Mine took a few days and then worked fine. Has been rock steady every since. Only drawback is that Android is not supported for remote start.

No, I’ve looked into PPF and it’s just too expensive. My car sits under trees. I’ve ordered two magnetic windshield covers to try out. They are intended for snow and ice, but I want to protect from bird droppings on the hood and possibly top of car.

My biggest problem is wind, and I don’t want to damage and scratch the paint. Depending on how securely they attach I’ll give them a try.

So I could use the covers most of the time, and remove them when storms come through I guess. I’m going to have to experiment!

Tried to add more photos but they didn’t take. I’ll try again.

My car doesn’t have that feature. I didn’t add the premium electronics or HUD. I wear polarized clip-ons more of the time and you can’t see the HUD with those.

I’m pretty impressed with the safety and driving features the car DOES have tho. I got comfort and parking assist, as well as ventilated seats and the HK upgrade. Haven’t tried parking yet. Wish I could’ve gotten the drive recorder, which will be available in August with the parking assist cameras.

I have a good perspective about this forum. I’ve been reading every word since I ordered the car. Love being able to ask any old dumb question and get lots of great responses!

I ordered the magnetic covers before I realized the car is plastic.


Oh well. They will work on my highlander. Which is now parked in the spot that gets a bunch more bird poop, traditionally.
