What is a reasonable discount I should ask when talking to sales?
I am pretty close to pull the trigger to order the x3m. I purchased an M4 2 years ago from same guy, so what should be a reasonable discount to negotiate? I was going for 5% but looks like I should start from 7%.
Any suggestions here? Appreciate! |

Good luck....prepare yourself for MSRP though. I have ordered at least 5 new X3's/X5's from the same dealership/salesman over the past 15 years & always was able to negotiate. I currently have a deposit on a 047 build for a '20 X3M Comp. There are no NA allocations yet. These first ones will be MSRP all day long. There obviously will be exceptions to this, but not for the average Joe.

"The other guy's money is just as green and as good as yours"
So if dealer knows a guy behind you is willing to fork MSRP for that allocation, you can ask any price you want but coming home with a car. The problem is, dealer knows the demand and supply on these cars and we don't know yet. In history of M cars, the first year usually goes close to MSRP or MSRP, just wait for demand to go down unless you are the kind that have to be the first kid in the block with the new toy. Having said that always ask for discount that makes you happy |

Invoice (~6% off) unless you have to be the first. Incentives after discount. I don't think anyone should pay MSRP or above for this thing. It's a cool car but not THAT cool.

After my '18 X3M40i was stolen and totaled a couple of months ago, I promptly put in a order for an X3MC. Insurance paid out, and I'm in a rental as I impatiently await the week 31 build. I purchased through military overseas sales. Fixed price 10 percent under MSRP and no tax. It should arrive late September!

I'd wait for the second batch. Let the market saturate a bit then they'll discount just like every other model. You can be the first on your block to own/lease one or be the first on your block to get a phenomenal deal on one. Take your pick. I'm waiting...patiently....
