Guess BMW finally starting to take all these recent quality issues reported here on forum very seriously … best of luck though and hoping you'll get your car soon!!!

Not sure what the issue is as no specifics from the factory. GM at the dealership thinks it is related to waiting on a part - but also states has never seen one in this queue for this long.... guess I'm just lucky. Not sure how much more time needs to go by before I reconsider my options... ugh.

That online tracker is meaningless. Did you ask your dealer to check the status? Or BMW genius can tell you, but you have to get to a live person.

Dealer sees the same status in their system. GM at dealer has tried their "contacts" at the factory but all they get is that the car will be released as soon as possible. Apparently they have no way to call and are only able to email?? This is one of the bigger dealerships in the Chicagoland area, so I am surprised by their apparent lack of influence.
I guess I could try the BMW genius, but from what I've read it can be hit or miss if they can help with status.

Nah, your dealer should have the latest. Once it is on transport they also can track the expected delivery date. My car took from Sunday to Thursday to get from SC to Delaware. It is about a 10-hour drive. Drove me nuts.

My guess is, like other people have said, it’s waiting for a part, or digital update, or something like that. The BMW online/electronic systems have been consistently down and inconsistent for weeks. Maybe they can’t download the damn software. Maybe the factory is having trouble with all the down systems.

Who knows.

I feel for ya. My car took nearly six weeks, when everyone else on the forum was saying they got theirs on the east coast in about four weeks. Ordered may 6, arrived at dealer June 7.

Mine took about 30 days to arrive at the dealer in Delaware. May 6 to June 6.

So, buck up. You might still get it next week.

Very odd.

More than likely it's a defect or fault that had not been corrected. Maybe they're having trouble addressing the issue. Even if it was a part, it shouldn't take more than 1 week.

I just recently had an X3 complete production and it went from entering assembly line to ready for transport in the same day. Arrived at dealer 1 week later.

I think it's time you request your dealer order you a replacement.

Appreciate your feedback - I ordered May 2 and started production May 23. I guess that's about 6 weeks now too...

Thanks - I've been thinking about what leverage I might have - but don't really think I have much since I ordered the car because I wanted it spec'd a way that wouldn't be a standard dealer spec'd car. I've been wondering if there is something with my config that held it up - but I agree, if there was a part issue it should have been resolved by now - I think they pump out hundreds of vehicles a week with all sorts of options so I am baffled at this point. Will call the dealer again today...

In most cases if the issue was a trim piece that got damaged, or easy to replace part, bmw would ship the part to the SC VPC and the car would stay there waiting for the part to arrive. If it's stuck in quality check, it's likely more serious. Obviously I'm speculating a bit here.

It's your money, tell the dealer you have a bad taste already with this car and you'd like another vehicle specd with same. They have time to get in a 2019 order since SC switches to 2020 beginning August production.

I wouldn't stress over what the tracker says. We aren't able to access the tracker in Australia, so our cars could have been stuck in QC for long and we wouldn't have a clue.
