Thoughts on Lane Keep Assist?

For those who have it, I'm curious what your impressions and thoughts are of Lane Keep Assist?

After having driven for a week with it on, I'm inclined to turn it off entirely. I'm not sure I'll get used to the vibrations every time I cross the lane, and even on "reduced" it still seems too sensitive. Or, I'm just a lousy driver when it comes to staying in my lane

On the other hand, I have already switched off the "Steering Intervention" after it almost caused me to crash into a cyclist I was swerving to avoid.

Takes a little getting use to and you can adjust it but I'm keeping it for highway driving along with the adapted cruise control. It's not entirely self driving and you do need to keep a hand on the wheel but it should really make a difference on long highway drives.

I also don't find Steering Intervention that harsh that I would ever hit something / someone I was not trying to hit.

I have it in a G30 and I like it for the most part. I find it tends to wander left/right on some roads, especially around curves. In the G30 it detects when I want to override the intervention and the car let's go of its corrective action.

Maybe you have iDrive settings to adjust the amount of intervention?

The adaptive cruise control is the best part of the drivers assistance plus pkg. The first time you use it in stop and go highway conditions, you'll love it.

Hell no!! Story time, now you can argue this was karma on my behalf for not signalling but anyways, Out on a 2am cruise, Just cruising along about to take the next exit and no one was around not bother signalling, tried veering off into the shoulder lane and oh god the resistance was rock hard and it was pulling against my command.... gave me a huge scare cause I thought I was gonna go right into the median that begins to split the exit from the road I was on... gave me a huge scare and disabled it instantly... I kept the vibration feature on tho

Maybe a gym membership should be in your future.

What setting do you have it on?
