I don't know if I am running this March 2019 update or not, and I am unable to find anything relevant in iDrive or on my Android Connected app.

Do you have this update and/or this remote update functionality? Any advice for me as to how to deal with this?

X3’s running iDrive 6 aren’t capable of remote firmware updates. Applies to OS7 vehicles only.

I clicked your link above, and got the same information without entering my VIN...it appears to be a general information page about remote updates

The "Technical Requirements" section explains how to tell if your BMW can get the updates

As ClaretFozzy said, it's only available for vehicles with iDrive 7+

I'm not bothered about not having this, I get the dealers to update mine when it goes in for service, just tell them the idrive/nav/phone connection is playing up and they'll update the software under warranty.

So there is no way for me to update my 2018 without taking it to the dealership?

Would be good if there was a published list of all the enhancements/fixes.

Well you can do it with e-sys and a coding cable, but I wouldn’t recommend it.
