Fix the cosmetic issues or leave it as is?

I got back from a two week trip to find the clear coat on my roof bubbling and water in my passenger side carpet. I also have a heavily pitted windshield and a 1/2 working rear defroster. Would it be worth it for me to drop $1500 to have the glass replaced and the roof repainted? Is there a way to just stop the spread of the clear coat failure?

2006 330i, 86k mile car with every single option that could be possibly be retrofitted to the car.

Definitely replace window. Not very expensive for a major improvement. Should be around $300 for Pilkington glass.

How diligent are you about waxing/sealent/coating you paint to prevent clear coat failure in the future? A good coat of wax now will delay the clear coat failure. If you will keep the car for 5+ years, probably worth the respray.

Maybe you could just sand down the area a bit and spray some clearcoat on it yourself. With a bit of fine sanding and polishing it will hardly be noticeable especially when it's on the roof.
