I have been let down, to some degree, by every mechanic/workshop I have ever used in Sydney.
Some have just over-promised but under-delivered, one quoted X but ended up charging Z, and one just kept doing sub-standard work and charging a f-ing lung for it - (the place that has umlauts in its logo that make no sense). Hills Euro in N/W Sydney have been the best I have used so far. It hasn't been perfect but closer than any of the others, who could learn a thing or two from them. Only problem is that they are on the other side of the city from me which is a bit of a pain. Their workshop is clean and modern, and isnt full of junk like most places. They havent broken any of my stuff and just not said anything (at least not that I am aware of), which was a problem with the go-to place in Sydney back in 2012/13 when I last had an N54. Prices are reasonable and mostly keep to their quotes - the time they had to charge a different amount they advised me via phone and I was ok with it - unlike most other places that just dont give a shit about the customer and make it up at the end - and when you raise the discrepancy they turn on you like flies on a certain waste product. I am still searching for something closer to me - but when I need something done I cant do myself (which is a lot of stuff) I contact Hills for a quote. |

Plenty of good and bad mechanics everywhere. Like all trades some good and bad and others specializing in certain things. Best to go to the track and drags and find someone racing one and see who fixes theres. Simply tuning brisbane is 1 place. Vtl melbourne but he only works on certain peoples cars at his discretion. Like the other guy said hills euro supposed to be good and used to have a shop n54 1 or 2 years ago. |

Depending on what you need to have done, most things can be DIY with a few tools

Where are you located in Sydney? I have a private workshop near Macquarie centre if that is closer to you, which i work on a fair few forum members cars.

I've used Hills Eurohaus. Agree with OP's comments - very neat and clean, good guys to talk to and they stick by their work and prices. Have visited the Brintech shop.and spoken to them about a few things but haven't as yet had them do work. Again, they seem very knowledgeable and keen on customer service. I've used a shop in southern Sydney for a number of years and on 4 bimmers (E46, E90, wife's E83, and my current E92) and they are reasonable in their prices and know how to get the job done. |
