Who here has a Samsung S10 on Verizon?

what functions do you have available ?
Remote start?
Remote software Upgrade ?
Able to see current software version on car remotely ?
Digital Key work ?

I have the Galaxy S9+. None of those functions are available on a Samsung phone.

Yes, Verizon service. A genius told me the digital key function is not allowed on Verizon but the rest is some disagreement between Samsung and BMW. We don't have Android Auto because of a privacy issue as well.

With connected drive, you have to “allow” services by setting them up in your car. Once you approve/allow them from the settings in the car, the connected drive app will work.

Also, be sure have location “always on” for connectedDrive. I had mine set to “only when using” because that is what I do with all other apps, but that prevents connected drive from working.

Also, we have At&T because that is the only one that works in my rural area. But the signal isn’t always great.

At first I thought that was why my connected drive was working sporadically. It worked when I was in a restaurant that had WiFi, but didn’t work when I got home. Had to turn on the location services setting.

I wouldn't know for sure. But if the issue between BMW and Samsung is for all models of phones, then you may not have remote start. But again I don't know for sure.

You will be able to send destinations from the phone to the vehicle, as well as:

remotely lock and unlock
flash your headlights
(if you are in US you can also sound the horn)
ventilate the vehicle
locate the vehicle
set a ventilate timer
remote 3D view
use digital key to lock/unlock and start
have some info displayed such as door/sunroof/windows locked or not, mileage, check control messages and service messages like oil change, brake fluid and service due.

the Android app has lacked a lot of opinions for me across 3 phones, S9+/S10+/OnePlus 7 Pro all on TMobile so it's not carrier or phone dependent. my work iPhone has all of the proper options

I am on S9 in the US. I do not have these features:

I am in Australia. The ventilate options disappeared for about 4 weeks and only came back about a fortnight ago.

The options are dependant on the backend servers and I am guessing if the servers are being upgraded or anything some options become unavailable.

Last I saw Audi didn't offer remote start or ventilation, has that changed?

Yep - Audi has the above except for ventilate, remote start. Send to car, info, lock, lights, windows, etc. If BMW has somehow removed the auto ventilation for Android (or any of the other features mentioned except remote start), that's a step backwards IMO...

I don't think they have removed it from Android. I had it, lost it for about 4 weeks, and then it returned. I still have those options now. I know they were doing a lot of work on their servers, so I wonder if that caused an interuption to what options were available.

Picked up my 2020 X5 M50i on Saturday, 17th and the app on my iphone is showing that it is still at the dealer and was last updated at 10:37am Saturday morning. So it has not worked since taking delivery. The BMW genius is telling me that the network has been down for a few days. Is anyone else experiencing this currently? If not, do you have a fix? I've read through a few of the related threads but there does not appear to be a clear cut explanation or solution. The connected drive 800 support said take it to the dealer, no help.

BTW other than this, vehicle is great!

Can you do any remote operations with the Connected app? Like flash the lights or beep the horn. If that works then the server is up.

Is your Connected app signed in to your connecteddrive.bmwusa.com profile?

On my Connected app it shows the trip I just took this morning, so it seems that the server is up..
