Exhaust Valve in Comfort Mode

Hey,

Is it probably to code and change the valve? I want to make it open in comfort, sport and sport+, but closed in eco mode.

I will have 430i with stock exhaust, I think about DP, cutting of middle one and don't know what to do with big muffler.

Is it a huge difference between open and closed valve?

I would really want to have 2 x 1 exhaust tips like in 440i, but I don't know does it fit well?

For me the best option would be:
- Downpipe
- straight pipe
- muffler with valve; closed - quite noisy, open - loud af - completely straight pipe.

But.. i would like to have more control under that, not have open valve only in sport mode..

Ehh, so many questions..

Just get bootmod3. You can have it set to have the exhaust valve open at all times.

Just for a heads up, I've coded the valve to be open all the time thru an app called BimmerCode (a YouTuber known as Thicf30 has made a lot of videos on it if you want to know more about it). The difference in exhaust tone with the valve opened vs. closed is almost no difference. I think the function of the valve is for it to be closed during cold start to warm up the catalytic converter(s) and open afterwards for maybe slightly better exhaust flow. Other than that, the noise difference is so small you probably couldn't tell whether or not it's opened or closed.

That is interesting... my B48 330i sounds like two different cars with the valve open/closed.

Hmmm you know I am thinking more so about the N20 motor so it could be very different for the B48. Not that I don't believe you but you wouldn't have any sound clips/ YouTube link to a open/closed valve for the b48?

Just listened to a sound clip and there actually is a significant difference. I take back what I said. I guess I should have thought about even those the b48 and n20 are both 4 turbos, they aren't exactly the same. I wouldn't however thing that having that valve opened vs closed would be the difference between quite and really loud. But I could be wrong like before lol.

I'll make some and post them up. Just out of the country until next week.
