Charge Pipe Failure
So it's been 2 weeks since the charge pipe blew up and my BMW dealer has since put it on but told me the car is still rough idling anyone have any ideas I figured it was a boost leak but they told me they would possibly need another $150.

Your car is tuned and you took it back to BMW to have them replace the charge pipe? You should have just bought a new aluminum one. The plastic one will just break again.
They probably just installed the gaskets incorrectly. |

Trust me I had the charge pipe and was going to do it unfortunately I was going to be out the next 2 weeks and figured I would just give it to them so the car would be ready when I got back. Poor timing sadly

The plastic CP will blow again with your tune. It's a ticking time bomb. Everyone needs a metal CP and it's mandatory if you want an after market tune. When a CP blows pieces of plastic can be sucked into the other engine components as well. One wonders if that's a possibility right now. |

This thread should be sticky as the charge pipe replacement ought to be done before the disintegration experience.
+1 Please replace it and Mike can help. |
