Oil life monitor reset itself?

I searched and didn't see this anywhere.

Yesterday, my oil life monitor said I had about 3200 miles to go before I needed an oil change. Seemed about right since I've got about 5k miles on the current oil. This morning, it's showing 10,000 miles to go??? Also, starting earlier this week, I've also been getting a false warning about a burned out exterior bulb. I don't know if the two are related and I'm having some kind of weird electronic issue.

Has anybody else seen such a huge jump in their oil life indicator? I would be okay if it went up a couple of hundred, or even a thousand miles, but to jump almost 7k overnight seems wrong.

I would agree on the electronic issue given the inordinately high value of the change in numbers.

Perhaps (a) wonky sensor(s) might be the issue.

for some reason i got my oil change at the dealer at 15k now its saying i need to wait 24k more till a oil change and when i asked my sa about it they said they new program on the car bases the oil changes not on set mileage but on how u drive and your car consumes oil .

something with these cars arent right
