320iX mods

Thanks in advance for input.

Bought my wife a very clean 2014 320iX last month as her daily driver. Get WAY better fuel mileage than my Tahoe. Its a fun car drive. I enjoy it after driving a F250 work truck for 14 days. It is my second BMW to own. First was an 2008 528i. Question is.... what can be done safely mod wise for a little extra pep? It does have some sort of aftermarket CAI on it now.

Looking for some ideas, thoughts guidance in things that work well for the ole girl.

Thanks again,
Luis

I just got the same car (non-xdrive). There are a couple things you can do with the Bimmercode app and ODB connector. #1 is Sport+ mode (and SAT). There is info all over the forums for that. Not useful for everyday, but if you want a little fun on the country roads, it's definitely worth it.

Had a friend of mine do the sport auto programming on my 320 and it really wakes up the car. Also had him do Sport+ coding as well. Next step is to install H&R SS lowering springs for improved handling. I’m currently under CPO so no tune for me ATM. Regarding aftermarket CAI, I’m leaving the stock unit on my car.

However, due to the fact that you have a ‘14, how many miles? Not sure if you are aware of the timing chain issues for N20/N26’s built prior to Jan 2015.

Mine's birthdate is 01-2014 and its got 75k miles on it so far. Tell me what's up with the timing chain. Had it changed in my daughters 2008 528i several years ago and in my sons 2007 XC90 when both vehicles had about 100k miles on them.

Search the web/forums for more info. There's plenty of it in the F30 threads.

If you plan on doing it as a preventative measure, here's a invoice of mine getting done with parts needed:

Ordered a GFB DV+ this morning. My car already has the Injen CAI system and a red AFE charger tube on the drivers side. I need to take it somewhere with a lift or pit so I can look at the underside for more aftermarket parts. Still unsure on what tune/piggyback I wanna go with...
