Weathertech Floor Liners

I bought the full floor liners for my X2, and I cannot get the retainer pins to go into the slots on the floor of the car. The ones that are currently in there are the ones with velcro to hold the stock carpet mats. I'm trying to figure out if they're just installed incorrectly, or if I'm doing something wrong in trying to get the retainer pins in.

Anyone have any experience with these?

Thanks.

Remove all plastic original from floor. Put new ones in, press down and twist.

I'll try that; thanks. How hard to get out the original without tearing up the carpet (the car is leased)?

Turn the discs with velcro and with some jiggling they should come right out, since they have pegs pointing out the side and the way you install is press down with pegs pointing to the keyholes and then twist.

I don’t know, changing lightbulbs seems to be a pretty laborious task given all the jokes out there.
