Hydraulic reservoir & fluid level.

No mention of it in the handbook, assume it's like the engine oil level and no dipstick, being hands clean and non technical, BMW owners are not expected to investigate what happens under the bonnet, wonder they don't seal it down . A serious search all around the engine compartment elicited no visual evidence of said reservoir . However I finally found where the Bavarians had secreted it . Not much wasted space in there.

Stechen Sie nicht mit den Fingern in die Macinery und mischen Sie sich nicht in die technischen Details/

To the rear of the engine compartment , drivers side, look at the plastic closure panel against the the A frame bulkhead.. It looks solid but on closer inspection their is a raised triangular section with a small round turnbuckle catch in front . Turn the catch and the triangular bit hinges up and the reservoir is in the void below. It can be seen in the owners manual illustration page 334 but the said illustration is of a left hand drive car so its actually the other side of the car to that shown.

Bumble: The hydraulic reservoir located! No prob when you know where to look!
Useful to know as it used to be a regular check to make sure the seals were not leaking as it was not always the norm to change the fluid every two years.
I think it is still a useful check! Many thanks!
